In theory, the end of June may not be the best time to hold an outdoor car show, especially in Southern California, what with the god-awful heat. But even with the sun blazing down in full force, causing temperatures to rocket to the triple digits, that didn’t stop thousands of car fans from filling the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim stadium parking lot with hundreds of badass rides from all over the West Coast for Extreme Auto Fest Anaheim 2016.
The people behind Extreme Auto Fest pride themselves on giving their attendees a wide variety of sights to see, and this event was no different. Walking through the grounds there was something for everyone to take in, from lowriders, to off-road trucks, to tuner cars, as well as drift car demonstrations, breakdancing competitions, and bikini contests.
In the lowrider section, clubs like Showdown, Familia, Forever Clown’n, Our Style, and Nokturnal had their best and brightest customs out on display for those willing to brave the heat. For many of the cars out on display, engraving appeared to be the weapon of choice especially for those trying to stand out just a little bit more. We saw engraved undercarriages, engine bays, hydraulic setups, bumpers, or even just accessories, as these vehicles were decked out in some of the craziest scrollwork we’ve ever seen.
As the sun set and temperatures dropped down to a more tolerable level, awards and prizes were handed out signaling a close to another successful Extreme Auto Fest event. We can’t wait for the next Extreme show to happen; our only hope is that when the next event rolls around the weather will be much cooler, but we know that doesn’t matter to the many fans who support this show.
