One of the wildest trucks we saw on display at Extreme Auto Fest Anaheim ’16 had to belong to Laurence Salazar of Showdown Familia’s ’63 Chevy C10.
At first glance the biggest and most eye catching mod has to be the custom plexiglass dump bed. Underneath the split hood is a 350 crate motor. Inside the cab, Laurence had a ’59 Impala dashboard fitted along with a pair of ’74 Monte Carlo swivel seats. Painted by Al Martinez, Laurence’s truck also features chrome plating by Eli’s Polishing & Plating, engraving by Miguel Chavez, patterns by Art’s Customs, and murals by Sal Elias. For suspension, this C10 is sitting on an airbag/hydraulic setup which Laurence built himself in his backyard.
Laurence built this truck as a tribute to his club president and father. Like his fellow club member, Tony Alcala Jr. Laurence has been talking with Beto about doing a full feature on his truck. Check soon on our website and future issues of LOWRIDER for a full feature on this crazy C10.
