Angle grinders are an essential tool for any general fabricator or welder. Angle grinders have been used in one way or another to build every custom car out there. From shaving door handles, installing hydraulics, or molding chassis, angle grinders have been used in one way or another. Depending on the attachment you put on you can use them to grind, shave, or cut metal. The corded grinders are the only way to go for all-day use but we wanted to look at cordless ones and see what kind of benefit they had. We went out to our local hardware store and picked up a few different cordless grinders from DeWalt, Craftsman, Makita, and Ridgid.
Each grinder came with a screwable handle that can be mounted on either side of the grinder (the Craftsman and Ridgid allow you to mount it on top also), tool-less adjustable guard, and wheel attachment wrench. None of them come with a battery.
